I have 2 zones. Front yard and back yard. The front yard seems to run just fine and rarely gets clogged. The backyard however gets clogged real quick. At least once a week I have to go pull all the filter screens from the sprinkler heads and clean them out. They’ve been dyed an orange color from the rust in the well water. I have a water system for the house water but it’s after the sprinkler line. Looking for some solution to keep the sand and or rust out of the sprinkler head screens so it’s not a weekly thing to clean them and clear out the lines. Any good solutions for this situation?

Maybe put a wye filter in line with the output of your pump?

Does the front yard sprinklers have filters in them, assuming they are pop ups? Have your tried removing the filters on the rear yard? It's very strange why it is only the rear yard.

This system and other similar brands was quite common at one time. S. Florida shallow wells (around 40 feet deep) were alway heavy iron water. Many homes were covered in rust stains and this was the only solution. Most Home Depot's carried these type systems. Having a consistent supply of iron preventer chemical could be a challenge but now with internet, it should no longer be a problem.

For the sand issue, installing a spin down filter wil help.

Second they, these rust chemical tanks work on the suction side of the pump well, therefore it cannot be used because it’s your domestic water source.
