This is a picture of the drain in my shower. I need to remove the metal plate part so a standard compression fitting can be placed around the pipe to install a new drain. Does anyone have ideas on the best way to remove the plate? It is not attached to the concrete but seems to be glued to the drain pipe. The pipe is almost certainly cast iron...

Thanks!
