Washer valves are leaking, this is the old style with thread in valves supply stores call boiler drains. My existing ones are multi-turn; I see Dahl makes a nifty quarter turn valve set but its not lead free. No one is going to drink from these spigots, does that make the lead free status a non-issue? Is there a better replacement valve that is lead free?

"Lead-free" faucets are only so designated so they can be sold to the dingbats in California. It is not an issue for normal folks.

If leaded valve are allowed in your state, then buy them if you want.
Online stores follow the lead restrictions, so they can't ship leaded plumbing to CA for example.
