Trying to replace a trap arm, but it will not come out of the stub out. Arm will come out about 3-5 inches then stop. What can I do? Picture will be attached.

Odd. I would pull it out that 5 inches, and saw the pipe. Put on a new escutcheon if you like, and glue on a new trap adapter.

Cut it like he said and then folds the pipe over on itself inside of the pipe. I ran into this the other day and that’s how I did it.

It had to go in so it will come out. It’s just rusted in there and is probably hanging up where the trap adapter was glued on.
