Hello, I'm doing a bathroom vanity remodel and re-working the sink drain/vent stack. I have this 12" piece of 2" cast iron that connects to another hub 2" piece in the slab. Below the slab, there's 2" PVC booted onto the cast iron that was done last year during a sewer line replacement under the house.
The question is do I remove this small piece of cast iron and get a new Fernco donut and use 2" PVC into the hub? Or does the cast iron look fine enough for another 30+ years given this is a vertical fall of the drain? This is a 1970 drain so that's 56 years of scale/corrosion inside the drain.
I'm just hesitant to mess with the hub/washer connection. Trying not to overthink this and should I just put my 2" shielded Fernco on the stub out and move on or mess with the hub connection and make it PVC all the way in?
Thanks!
