Around here the yellow flex gas lines have become problematic in some areas due to lightening strikes and they have doubled down on grounding the gas lines . A lightening strike can melt right through the gas line or water lines and cause you all sorts of issues, and in our town we seem to have an area on the north side that has had a lot of fires and hits.....

the problem I have run into is -- over time --- the ground becomes loose, disconnected, corroded or whatever....

I have grounded the hell out of my property.... bring it on....
I've heard stories of lightning blowing holes in CSST and there was some controversy here over whether it should or should not be bonded, I don't recall the outcome. I've only ever bonded black iron gas pipe.
Ive never heard that Bonding csst is controversal only that its required I never heard dont bond csst?
Since I'm retired now I don't now but I will ask one of my inspector friends what they are currently doing here.

I believe they have changed the codes around here and ccst gas pipe now comes insulated and had a ground wire included in the insulation.... its become rather expensive, but lightening can burn a hole through that pipe in a milisecond and set the home on fire....... or jump across and burn a hole through a copper water line too

It really only takes a few minutes to check this off your list......

I never installed csst but thought it was required, browsed through the instructions on one brand and they said it should be bonded but did not say must be bonded or shall be grounded of cource it says comply with local code I cant imagine bonding being a wrong thing to do but ill leave it to you to find out

You can lead people to water but you cant make them drink....

Its is simply common sense ,

Its just like making people show their VALID IDs to get Free Welfare benefits , free food,
or like being able to Vote for all their free benefits in national elections........

and they claim that they are too stupid to figure out how to get a VALID ID

so then you and me have to pay taxes to keep these morons afloat... :D:D:D

I think more common sense would be solving problems that actually exist. Leave it to republicans to pass laws only for problems that don't exist.

Fraud is, and has always been, illegal. What laws are you talking about? Which problems do they solve? Nice change of subject by the way.

I remember not that long ago when the right was trying to make the point that we had too many laws and regulations. I remember them wheeling out reams of paper ( that were actually blank) saying this is our tax code or these are the laws regarding "fill in the blank". Now literally the only thing they can accomplish is writing more laws for problems we actaully don't have. Or starting yet more war that cost us more than it would to house the homeless. Great again, lol.

I'd rather the government use the vast resources that we've bestowed upon it, to provide resources for our citizens in need. I would prefer that, instead of ejaculating money all over the Middle East like again.
