The stem threads on my shower valves are pretty chewed up so I'd like to replace them, but don't know what they are.

They're 5-1/2" long and the broach is 12 point .375″. The escutcheons are Pfister 960-280. The bonnets are round so there's no easy way to unscrew them from the rest of the shower valve.

I've spent hours looking at valve stem catalogs online, but haven't found them.

Anyone recognize these stems?

Thank you.

Thanks, hj, the stems are indeed Repcal. The new replacements look a little different, but function the same.

Hi RayGromer,

I've stumbled across your thread here while trying to identify my setup. See https://terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/leaky-tub-faucet-from-the-1950s.98305/

It looks like we have identical setups. The packing nut (in front of the bushing) specifically looks exactly like mine and the rest matches up pretty well too.

Would you mind elaborating on how you removed the stem? What are the specific steps?

Thanks a lot!

Ok, I figured it out. Indeed it was just a matter of removing the nut and then keep turning left! May I ask where you got the chrome replacement stem from?

Thanks!
