Hello, I am trying to replace these shower handles and cannot get them off. I've tried various Phillips, flathead, and Allen tools inside the holes on the front, but nothing is working. I've also tried to just pull on them, but they just start pulling on my tile and they don't come loose by turning them past the normal turn radius (not sure if that makes sense. Anyone else have an idea?

Sometimes you can pull them off with these after the screw had been removed.
Though the last job with American Standard valves I could not get them to budge. I will be going back to cut tile and replace the valve with a remodel plate.

What's on the other side of the wall?
A closet? another bathroom?
You may have to cut the wall and replace the faucet body from the back, if you don't want to mess with the tiles as Terry suggested.

Yes, there's a wall which is next to a toilet. That's good advice. I'm thinking we may go ahead and replace tile as well though because we dont like that tile. Thank you.

Great, then just work from inside the shower and kill two birds in one shot.
