We had a stand-up shower that was leaking and we're taking it out.

The shower had drained into the toilet line.

I don't want to cut the shower drain and vent then cap it as any vent condensation would have no place to go.
Can I simply connect the vent to the existing shower drain with the trap removed?

Seems to me it would just be extra venting and the poop will flush faster...? ;)
