I am relocating an old toilet to another bathroom. I have removed the toilet and am attempting to remove the closet flange. This flange is cast iron and is leaded to a cast iron soil pipe. I have been working at "chipping" the lead out, but at this rate it will take forever.

I am trying to salvage the closet flange as this is from a 1927 toilet and I don't know if it will fit into today's "standard" closet flange.

Is there a "secret" to removing this lead?

Any tips will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Beth
