I removed my alcove bathtub and my question is, is it possible to leave the plumbing for the drain and overflow as is and connect the new tub to it if the holes are in the same place on the new tub? All the videos I've seen show them cutting off the drain pipes and replacing them, but is that always necessary? I haven't bought a new tub yet, so if I can save some work I can look for one with the holes in the same places.
