I have a unique situation. I have a mountain vacation home. Which we only heat when we are there. 4-5 times a winter. We are very good at managing all the water. Draining and winterizing after each visit. No issue there.,

Our set up is we have a telephone switcher box for the thermostat. We can switch from t1 to t2 (inline with our wall thermostat) with a phone call. Been working great for years.

We always had a murcury thermostat. Which was acting unusual lately. It is subject to big cold swings when we heat and winterize. So I changed it out for a honeywell digital 2 wire thermostat. Seemed simple. Only issue is the honeywell goes into LO (Lockout) below 40 deg. This does not allow us to use this thermostat on our setup. I guess the developer assumes it is in a fault condition at this temp.

Can you recomend a thermostat that is digital that does not go into lockout?

Other question to ask what happens if battery dies from a power outage if it has one. They still make snap acting thermostats that use bi metal with contacts instead of the mercury.

TY for your reply, I will review this. I am not concerned about the batteries dieing. Worst case i can not remote turn it on. I need to wait til i get there.
