Hi Terry

I have a p trap that I want to move perpendicular to where it is now, the p trap will right under the tub but can I put 1 90 degree fitting in the line between the p trap and y fitting?

Do you have a picture or a sketch?

While this may not work for you, the p-trap can be installed with the outlet at nearly any angle, so a 90-degree angle may not be needed after it. That's if you're talking about an angle in the horizontal plane...you cannot run the outlet of the p-trap down until it is vented except for the normal 1/4"/foot slope.
