Went to a house where customer complained of bad smell, it did smell. I crawled underneath and discovered a stinky swamp and that the trap had been removed from the bathtub. They had a tub stoppage and this was the previous plumber's solution. This same plumber had his service truck bombed in his driveway. Another satisfied customer no doubt.

Kind of embarrassed, but I am building anew house , not real big, and the price from a local contractor for plumbing and heating was a shocking 26 k, so I decided to try running drains myself but a new woman at work said her husband is a plumber so he started, I know little about it but soon started worrying, no vents, first floor washer trap in cellar, second floor shower trap in cellar and reduced to one .five inch, I questioned him and he said he looked it up and it is fine so I got rid of him, he said the main stack would vent the whole house.he used two tees on the horizontal line in cellar along with two wyes. He ran one pex water line right on the strapping in kitchen ceiling where a Sheetrock screw would go through. Talked me into having two heat zones on first floor, only two rooms but living room has pellet stove, then he ran that heat zone into the hallway with two exterior doors and the stairway upstairs, Isaid there would be no heat when the stove was running, he looked a bit sheepish and said I Know, right now am trying to get things straightened out, could have done better myself.
When I finally asked WTF he was doing, he said the job was hard and my little town has no building inspector but everything was okay, he has done same things before. Trying to figure out if I can report him to somebody.

So much to look at with this newly installed bathroom. I was there for a kitchen remodel when this discovery was made.
