I live in an area where the toilet flush volume is limited to 1.28 gal. I have an 1992 Eljer Windsor toilet with a 3 gal flush volume installed in a second floor bathroom which is connected to the vertical 4in sewer pipe by a 20 ft long semi horizontal run with just a few inches of slope. Since I'm concerned that the new 1.28 gal toilets wont have enough flushing power, I'm trying to revive my old toilet. I happen to have the required drain wrench. When I tried to disassemble the flush valve from the tank, I ran into the problem that the nut holding the drain valve to the tank is 'frozen' to the drain valve body. Turning the wrench turns the entire assembly. Any suggestions what to do? Would brute force using a reciprocating saw work?
