Can anyone tell me any information on this pump? It has no marking on it..One of the 4 wires has been cut at the pump, is this the ground wire that has been cut? Is that an issue?

Yeah that is the ground wire cut. Will work fine and won't be a problem except for passing electrical code in your area. Those motors usually have a tattoo label on them. It is just under all the black stuff. Wire brush and you can probably read it. BTW that black stuff on the motor looks like your pump was sitting about 2' in the muck. Motor is probably toast and you will need another one. Clean out the well or raise it 3' up.

Thank You I found the pump information right where you said it would be. It is a Sta-rite XT9 Model # 100D311 1 HP pump I am looking for info on the internet now.
The pump was probably in some muck, I believe some one tried to steal it the other day and it dropped down the casing. It was only down in there for about a week or so. I was able to retrieve it yesterday thankfully.

Thanks again!

Of course that is only the motor number. There should also be some kind of tag on the pump. I am guessing it is a 10 GPM series from the length though.

What type of control box would I need? I have a QD 1 HP 230V 1 phase here in my garage, will that work on this pump?
