Proper island sink drain hook up?

Wondering if this hookup is acceptable? The AAV is cut off at the top of the photo

Looks good to me if it did not leak up at the tailpiece.

Tie a strip of cloth around the brass threads to intercept any water coming down those threads. That is to be sure that the leaking is at the slip joint fitting rather than from above.

It was a shitty nylon gasket or whatever you call them I tried to re-use I had to get a new one for it!
