Programmable Humidistat

Hi folks,
I have a Nortec #2548731 manual humidistat that has bit the biscuit and I'm hoping to replace it with a programmable humidistat. The Nortec unit is a 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz and 3VA. We have a small wall hung humidifier and I've been told that the humidifier won't work with a programmable humidistat. I'm questioning this advice and hoping someone here can tell me if there is a programmable humidistat that is the electrical equivalent to the Nortec unit we have.

What connections are used on your Nortec? Most don't have fan control terminals so you may need a relay for a different model if yours controls a fan in addition to the humidifier.

Honeywell are reasonably priced. Schneider are also good.
