I hope this is in the right section.
I am from Western NY and I have well water. My TDS is 1100, and I HAD a chlorine pellet dropper on the well, a 100 gallon retention tank, media filter, and water softener. We buy bottled water as the water is still not suitable to drink. A few years ago I decided to get a RO system so we wouldn't have to buy bottled water. I bought the best system I could find, and hooked it up. It was fine for about 2 glasses of water then the TDS started climbing and then the water smelled horrible (almost fishy and there is no odor to our water before the RO system). I contacted the company I bought it through and he said my RO membrane went bad from my chlorine I add to the water and I needed a new filter kit. I didn't want to spend $150 for filters that only last 2 glasses of water, so I quit using it. Well this year I decided to see if I could get it working properly and got rid of the chlorine and now inject hydrogen peroxide into the water. I bought the $150 in filters and changed them all out. I got about a gallon of water this time and my water started smelling. It smells absolutely horrible like it did before. I contacted the company again and he said I needed new filter's a third time. I do not want to go through him because there is something over his head as to what is going on. He also suggested that I lower my RO membrane to 80GPD as he thinks the 150GPD membranes do not filter as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be happening?
Thanks,
Daryl
