I purchased new stems for hot and cold and a diverter stem from a very reputable supply house. However before and after the new stem a large amount of water is not diverted and goes out the spout.

Ive read on forums there is a nylon washer that is essential to shut off water to the spout. I’m not sure where it would go or where to get the right washer.

You should have a loose fitting white nylon washer between the stem and the body of the stem.

The clear nylon washer was packed with the diverter. Did you lose it prior to installation?
