I have a leak behind my shower wall. We suspect it may be the diverter valve. Problem is this shower was installed years ago, early to mid 90s and we know the brand but not the model number to get the replacement parts. It's a price pfister push pull handle. How complicated would it be to replace the whole thing? We do not have easy access to the plumbing.

Usually, any leak on that valve would come out at the handle. More likely, with that age, would be a cracked thread in the shower arm where it screws into the elbow in the wall. If you try to unscrew the shower arm, it may just finish cracking off, which would verify that was where the leak is.
