I posted this under the tub and shower forum but didn't get any responses so posting here...see picture...I have a leak underneath the spout and have removed the Allen screw from the back but before I attempted to remove the spout by pulling it up I wanted to see if this was the correct removal method?. I'm assuming the orings are bad... thoughts.... thanks

Removing the allen screw on the back of the spout is correct. Now you are free to rock the spout up and down while pulling up to free it from its base. The friction from the o-rings will fight you.... Avoid twisting side to side because you could loosen the base that is secured to the tub. The base is where the o-ring are .
