one more question, I got a check valve, does it matter how close to the pump I put it on the line? I'm asking because I have easier access about 20 feet from the pump, will putting the check valve 20 feet from the pump make a difference?

well I put the check valve on and that was apparently my problem, we now have the best pressure we have had since moving in over a year ago, thanks to all who helped a non plummer get this working properly. This is a great site, and I would recommend any novice or even experienced plummer to come here to learn

The further from the pump the better in a well situation, in your situation, it really doesn't matter.

By the way, I'm a non plumber too.
