We’re trying to figure out the source of a popping sound coming from the mechanical room in our condo. It sounds similar to a breaker being switched on and off. The unit is on the 4th floor of a 7-storey building that was built in 2022.

The sound seems to happen randomly, but we’ve noticed a pattern—it sometimes occurs when the resident above uses water, or when our washing machine finishes a cycle.

Any idea what this could be?

Not sure how to add the video, please help.

Maybe the water heater? A water heater loaded with calcium will make popping noises when heated.
