It's impossible not to get some grease in the plumbing, but I made sure to show my wife and sons that after they wipe out a pan, make sure they mix any remaining grease with a suitable amount of dish detergent to emulsify the grease well enough where it will not solidify in the plumbing when cold water hits it.

Thanksgiving I usually get stoppage calls and the same with Christmas.

Today at 8 AM I received a call a child was severely scalded, and I had to drive to the accident scene.

3 hours each way very scenic

This happened in Pennsylvania when people were visiting relative's old farmhouse, and the boiler supplies the hot water through coil and they have globe valves to adjust the temperature going into a valve on the H side and one on the C side and supplying a 3/4" copper Y original set up from the 1960's.

When I took the temperature at the shower it was over 178 DEG F

A Local "plumber" was servicing the boiler last week and made some adjustments on the hot and cold water supplying the Y

The thermometer was broken as the dial was pointing to zero

He was able ot test the water by placing his hand in it and adjusted it accordingly according to the uncle of the burn victim

I worked for this same law firm from Pennsylvania when they handled the case in Hunts point the Bronx where two toddlers perished from a steam leak.

I also saw this kind of set up in another law suit I testified against

Fat and grease that you can scrape out should go into the trash, and not down the drain.

So.rry. Were the Bronx toddlers unsupervised?
Steam came through the hot water pipe?

What failed here?
Years ago in my little house I.nstalled a Heatmaker™ which created the domestic hot water from a coil inside the hot water reservoir used to heathe baseboard radiators.
