Plug sink overflow hole?

I have almost gotten rid of drain flies. However, I'm concerned about the bathroom sink overflow hole. Is that a possible place for them to lay eggs?

I've never seen those flies, but yes. That is a moist area that any critter could lay eggs. Same with the tub overflow.

Usually a good practice is to spray Clorox down the overflow openings to kill bacteria and egg laying critters
