You tried to remove the pipe? Is that brown stuff new? If not, how did your removal efforts not scrape that?

Is it your objective to have a bare wall there with no pipe?

Is your purpose to hook a sink drain to there?

What?

Have you tried to unscrew the trap adapter nut? It is right behind the pipe that is broke off. Put a wrench on the flats and try to unscrew the nut.

Yes, there is a slip joint nut there can can be loosened. I would pick up a new slip joint nut and washer for that.
Remove the broken stub of the old p-trap and have a new one for that.
