Hoping someone here can help me identify this valve stem from a 1950s-era two-handle tub/shower setup. It’s from a home with original tile and plumbing, and I’m trying to find a replacement for a worn/broken stem.
Details:
• There are two separate controls (hot and cold), one for each side of the tub.
• The escutcheon is stamped “S.F. B2242” and “10248”.
• The bathtub spout is marked Kohler, but the stems may not be.
• The valve stems are threaded and plastic
I’ve attached photos below from multiple angles to help with identification.
What I need:
• The exact replacement stem, or a compatible part if the original is no longer made.
• Advice on whether this looks like a Re-Nu, American Standard, Kohler, or another brand.
• Any sources where I might find this (eBay, plumbing supply, etc.).
• Tips for replacing just the stem vs. full valve body if necessary.
