My long, narrow house will have all of the plumbing along one section of one side. Below are my isometric drawing of the DWV system and the relevant part of the floor plan. My vents will go up through the interior walls and then join into one that will exit the gable end so that I can avoid any penetrations of my standing-seam steel roof, as the house will be all electric. Please critique my plan. I anticipate that I may have an overabundance of cleanouts; which, if any, are unnecessary? Have I followed the rules of isometric drawings adequately? I'm governed by the 2012 IRC.

If you are in a "cold area" the vent out the gable will not fly. Installers seal standing seam roofs to vents all the time without creating problems. What does being 'all electric' have to do with a vent through the roof?

Thank you, HJ. I'm in a very mild climate. An all-electric house doesn't need roof penetrations for furnace or water heater vents. Other than the gable end venting, how does my isometric drawing look to you?

Not a plumber. I expect your WC vent could be 2 inch, but 3 would be great. I wonder if some of your 1-1/2 inch vents should be increased to 2 inches. You will need to use the correct kind of fittings such as long-sweep when going from vertical to horizontal.

Any plans for the water softener drain line and maybe the drain line for other water conditioning?

Is the tub going to have a shower?

Thank you, Reach4. I will have a shower in the tub, but no water conditioning.
