I’m upgrading my kitchen countertop and replacing a 6” drop-in double sink with a 9” single-basin undermount. I understand the plumbing layout will change due to the basin style, but my main concern is whether there’s enough vertical clearance in the sink cabinet.

Photos attached show the current setup. Key dimensions:

– New sink + undermount lip = approx. 10”
– Drain outlet: 8 3/8” from cabinet floor
– P-trap bottom: 10.5” from floor
– Disposal sits ~14” above cabinet floor

Can I install the new undermount sink without lowering the drain, while still ensuring proper function and avoiding drainage issues like backups or poor slope?

Thanks in advance and please advice if more dimensions are needed.

16" above the kitchen floor is the right height for a kitchen sink outlet. That gives you plenty of room.
