I wanted to install a ¾” PEX pipe in the drywall area (z-axis), but there is an electrical wire just above going into the same area. The pipe water temperature will be 180°F, and on the other side there will be a 90° elbow upward.

I did not find any IRC codes on running pipes close to electrical wires. But, it is hot water, so I figure the wire or pipe should be insulated where they cross. I have not opened the wall yet, just wanted to see if this was completely against common practice or any rules I did not read.

Hot water pipes are supposed to be thermally insulated. Wires, of course, are electrically insulated.

I see no problems with insulated wires and pipes being near each other, except there are special rules for around the breaker box.

Is your photo looking up from below? What is that green hose-looking thing? What is the black thing? The wiring would have some support requirements I think.

Pex needs to be supported every 32 horizontal inch.

Are you planning to use a 3/4 PEX pipe for hot water? Should you consider hot water recirculation, while you are running piping? What is the hot water for? 180 F water is not OK for feeding a shower or sink.

The PEX is for hydronic heating, so temp will be ~180F when running in winter.

Photo is looking up. There are two electrical wires: one black running horizontally, the other one with a green stripe is going in the z-axis along with the new PEX pipe. There is sheetrock to the left and right of the stud in the center, through which the PEX would enter just below green electrical cable.

So the PEX pipe would need to be insulated in wall, or is it easier to put more insulation around the electrical wire which is smaller? In all other areas, the existing copper pipes are insulated nowhere.

This is an unfinished area, 3.5' tall, that lies below a closet. It's a raised ranch, with closet at entrance, between the two floors.
