Pfister Avante, shower valve puzzle

Can anyone tell me what brand shower valve this is, so i can but the trim kit for it! Or do i need to replace the whole thing?

Your picture is not the greatest, but...
I would replace this faucet with a new anti-scalding faucet. You can also get a rough in body with built in hot/cold stops.
You do it from the back wall. Usually there is a closet back there.
To complete a job like this, you need to have plumbing, drywall, painting and possibly tile experience. Or a phone to call the pros.

It is a Pfister Avante valve. As long as it does not have the octagonal opening in the wall you can get trim kits from many sources. You had better reinstall the "lock nut" or the water pressure COULD blow the cartridge out of the wall.
