Brand of shower faucet.JPG

Was hoping if someone can tell me what brand this shower faucet is? There's a red dot on the handle. That's all I can find on it. The shower part is above this and has a pipe coming out of the wall.

Pfister Avante model. Core is available an any hardware or big box store. May still have the brand Price Pfister if it is old stock.

Is it possible to know the model # just by looking at this? It's just a turn knob, doesn't pull out. Turn counter clockwise more leads to more hot water.

I did not think the valve was new enough to work like that, but the handle and octagonal plate are Pfister. You may have the pressure balanced version which uses 4 bolts to secure the cartridge. Remove the trim pieces to see what is underneath.

Not sure I should replace it yet though. It only happened twice so far that when I turned the handle all the way clockwise that the water was still leaking from the shower part above. It hasn't happened again though; but I fear that it's just a matter of time before I won't be able to stop the leaking, just not sure how much longer it will be so was thinking about replacing it now rather than wait until it won't stop leaking.

You can call PP customer service and they most likely will send you a free replacement cartridge.

I prefer PP OE cartridge over an after market one.
