I’m installing some 1/2” PEX and connected 2 fittings using copper rings with a very short piece of PEX (just over 1-3/4” long).

After installed I Googled and can find minimum length for when using expansion system would be 2” long for 1/2” pipe, but can’t find any details when using copper crimp rings.

Is there a minimum pipe length when using crimps?
Do I need to cut this out and connect with a longer piece of pipe?

I don't find any such minimum for crimp rings. It makes sense that you would need a minimum for expansion fittings, but not with crimp or clamp.

With crimp style PEX you can "dry fit" your pipe onto your fittings.. The max insertion for the two fittings will be the minimum distance of tubing.
