I am going to replumb our house with pex-A. What are your thoughts on the different brands of Pex-A? Jones Stephens vs SharkBite vs Apollo? It appears the Apollo would be the most economical. I am also thinking about using the poly fittings. Any suggestions or experience is appreciated. If you suggest a product, please elaborate.

TIA

My opinion below.

Anything water touches degrades. Hot water even faster.

Most PEX A pipe warranties are 25 years max. What do they cover, probably offer a roll of new pipe. So pipe warranty to me is useless. Some like Uponor require their fittings be used to warranty their pipe. Makes zero sense to me but it's their game. Not impressed.

From what I've read, Apollo is from China. I have zero experience with it. Is it a bad pipe, can't say. For a few extra bucks more, get better materials. Later on if some brand pipe lets go, probably at a fitting since fittings are the failure spot in PEX. Saving money now as in a cheaper Apollo pipe might not be saving money later??? Water flooding, wet carpet and mold.....

Uponor has law suites and a ton of well know pipe yellowing issues. Many pictures of this on here to corroborate. PEX A pipes are "mostly" the same in price. I had 4 year old Uponor PEX A in my house. Yes it had internal pipe yellowing. Did I sleep well at night, nope. Once I found out about "Uponor" and their product reputation...... Uponor says they've sold what is it 18 million feet of pipe on their web site? How many million feet are now yellowed?

Far as brass fittings go, I would stay away from them regardless of brand. I would choose poly or plastic fittings due to corrosion issues in the now inferior no lead brass material. Sure brass is stronger than plastic. If you want it all, go with Boshart below.

After research and forum trolling, I went with Sioux Chief PEX A pipe and Boshart stainless steel fittings. Haven't read one negative word about Sioux Chief on any of their products. And the fittings, good luck getting better than stainless steel. Boshart makes super sweet, sweeping 90 degree fittings. They are a must for flow and reliability. And for Boshart's 20% flow increase over a hard 90, yes I can confirm this in my house. They do work as advertised.
