Where is it leaking from?

I assume its dripping out of the spout. What model # is it?

It is leaking from the spout and I don't know what model it is
except that it's over 20 years old. Is there a way to tell the model?
I didn't see any markings.

Thanks -

The handle pivots (up/on and down/off) and turns for temperature (r/hot, l/cold).

This valve should have a ball type stem.

Shut off the main water to the house.Take the handle off. there should be a collar that unscrews. once the collar is removed, the ball will be visible and you can take it out carefully. On the inside of the valve body there should be washers 2 conelike washers and 2 springs behind them. Replace both washers and springs . Then reassemble pivot ball and collar.
Finish reassembling the handle

Hope that works for you

Springs ans washers for this are available at home depot for Delta repair kit

peerless

Peerless faucets use Delta parts, although at that age, the ball may be different than the one a corresponding Delta would have used. Be careful removing the retainer cap or you will twist the valve into two parts, and then you will have converted a simple repair into a major repair or replacement.

Can't get retainer cap off Peerless single handle faucet

Is there a trick to getting the retainer cap off the Peerless ball type tub faucet? I've removed the adjustment ring, but the retainer cap just isn't budging.

Thanks,
Jean

retainer

Yes, you buy a new Delta retainer/cap with the adjusting ring. Then you carefully heat your retainer around its perimeter. Heat it a little then gently try to unscrew it with a pair of Channelock pliers. Keep repeating the heating and unscrewing until it finally frees up and it unscrews with no pressure on the pliers. I had one Saturday that the cap started to melt before it released, but it finally came loose. HOWEVER, I have had a couple of Peerless sink faucets that absolutely refused to come loose and those faucets had to be replaced.
