Removed my pedestal sink in order to paint and life happened an now I've forgotten how to hook it all back up. My main problem is I don't know what I need in order to connect the pipe to the hole in the wall. I've attached a pic of what I need to connect, and a pic of the cover it all needs to fit behind.

[incorrect info removed]
The pipe that goes in from the drain would be the trap arm, and it would often be 1.5 inches OD. The other size for lavatories is 1.25.

The thing in your second photo that dresses things up is called a box escutcheon .

You need a slip joint nut and slip joint washer, which threads onto your existing trap adapter threads.
It will either be 1.5" or 1.25"
You may want to pick up both sizes and return the one you don't use.

The PVC coming out of the wall is 1.5 and the metal pipe is 1.25. The PVC coming out of the wall also has a threaded ring which I saved. So I think I need something to get me form the 1.5 to the 1.25?
