I am installing a laundry sink in my basement which was finished last year. The "future" sink drain and the water lines and valves were installed but the sink was not. The sink drain is at the front of the picture. The sink is next to the washing machine and the washing machine has a P trap (see picture). The drain line slopes from left to right. The smaller box is a for a vent valve. Do I need to install another P trap under the sink? Someone suggested that the washing machine drain trap P tap is sufficient.

In this case the washer p-trap works for you. What is the small line going off to the left?
Don't forget the AAV in the small box.

Thanks for this response. The 3/4" going to the left is the HVAC condensate line that comes from a neutralizer. The AAV is installed already. I even have an access panel to access the P trap if needed.
