We want to replacing a (very) old tub/shower valve with a new thermostatic one. It is very likely that to get the replacement in a larger hole will be required. This would result in losing some of the surrounding tile. We have been unable to find the same kind of tile. If we can find an oversize escutcheon plate to cover the larger hole, that would solve the problem. Does anyone know whether any brand makes such a larger escutcheon plate?

Thanks in advance.

Find out if you can do the replacement from the other side of the wall. Usually in a hallway, a bedroom or a closet...easy enough to gain access without bothering the tiles.
