Hi,
I'm finishing my basement, but I'm not clear on what constitutes a finished room vs. unfinished. I've framed out a appropriately sized and vented boiler room with a fire door, fire rated sheetrock, etc. The floor will remain concrete and the room's one exterior wall is bare concrete block. Am I obligated to follow the electrical outlet spacing of the rest of the finished rooms? i.e. "no point along a wall being more than 6-feet from a receptacle"? Not sure where this is covered in the NEC.
Thanks for your input.
Regards,
Theodore

It is up to your local government what they require but it sounds like you are not required. You do need one receptacle per unfinished area.
Generally: "kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, parlor, library, den, sun room, bedroom, recreation room, or similar room or area of dwelling units" from NEC 210.52(a)
