I recieved a recommendation today of a Watersoft Provectr iron filter to remove my iron. Anyone have experience with these and can give me a rundown?

Their web page does not specify the media utilized. Katalox Light is now the media of choice for iron, manganese and sulfur reduction.

The "Isobar II" control valve does not appear to be a Fleck or Clack valve but I suspect is an offshore clone utilizing the Fleck spacer & seal design. Their recommendation to replace the seals and spacers on a yearly basis (stated within their 'Replacing Seals' video http://www.watersoftinc.com/products/control-valves/2094-series-isobar-ii ) is excessive. An actual Fleck valve will typically operate for 10+ years before requiring seal replacement.

Fleck, Clack or Autotrol valves are recommended whereas proprietary and imported valves are not.

Agreed. Knock off valves from China are not my ideal choice. Regular replacement and maintenance on iron reduction systems or even a softener used for iron reduction is the norm. Iron makes a mess of things! :)
