On a two story colonial, there are two upper baths: one with a tub/shower, toilet, and double vanity and the smaller with a shower, toilet, and single vanity. The bathrooms are back to back so we're talking about a relatively small area over the kitchen.
Right now, there are two 3/4" copper pipes from the basement feeding hot and cold water into a trunk and branch system below the two upper baths and contained in the kitchen ceiling. Other than the leaks from decaying copper, the system works normally as is.
It would greatly simplify things to use remote manifolds (no valves) in the ceiling, but is it considered bad form to put a manifold behind sheetrock?
This will be Uponor ProPex expansion PEX using the EP plastic fittings.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
John
