At our cottage we pump water from the lake to water our lawn via a 5 zone in ground system. The lake level is very high this year, such that some of the sprinkler heads in 2 different zones closest to the lake are actually underwater.
Is there any reason I shouldn’t operate the system? The rest of our lawn is getting quite dry.
We blow out the lines each Fall as part of our winterization process.
Thanks.

You're only pumping the water back to the lake. No harm UNLESS the irrigation system is tied to the cottage potable water and you're using one pump.

When the water recedes, move the sprinklers back from the lake edge. With 60 psi pressure any sprinkler can go 12-15 feet for pop ups and more with rotors.
