Hello! I am trying to remove this old payne floor furnace, but would like some advice on how to confirm it has been disconnected. Some duct work still exists in my home (and thermostat for it is still in hallway) so that is why I am not clear if it ever was properly disconnected. A forced air HVAC was installed around 20 years ago according to previous owner. Model #33DRF
Cross posted to reddit to no avail.

The only floor furnace that I had contact with had no ducts. All of the heat came out of that one spot in the floor.

What will you put there? I was thinking a hatch for easier access to the crawl space or a floor safe.

most of the removal is from the crawl space where everything has to be disconnected, including the draft hood, gas, wires, flue.
Once those items are removed, the unit lifts out from above. I have done dozens.
