Old bathtub knob with no screw, how to remove?

Cannot workout how to remove this old tub knob. The hole you see just appears to go all the way through, no screw. It's a very old knob, the picture is kind of crappy, I will see if I can get a better one.

If there is no screw in there ot has been removed already. The handle became one with the cartridge. You might need a handle puller. Or may be able to wiggle it free
