I wanted to change my old 3 handle faucets (I do not see the make)
to a newer one without changing the valves. Or, would you guys recommend
a complete replacement, including the valves? If I get the stems out,
I could post a picture and that would help to identify at least the make.
In my initial attempt to loosen the stem (it fits a 29/32" socket), I am unable to break it
loose.
Here is what I did:
1) Removed the handles
2) Sleeves and flanges
3) Tried to use a socket to break loose the stem
I did apply some torque, but did not want to damage by using too much force.
I have tried WD-40 and will try it out again. What are the recommended methods to
break loose the stem. Does heating with a propane torch help?
To access the valve, there is a bathroom vanity that I have to remove, and that involves
a bit of work.
Thank you all!
