Folks:

I very much appreciate this forum, thank you! 2015 IPC. I know that you cannot horizontal vent until you are above the Flood Level Rim (FLR).
  1. Can vents offset (go diagonal) before the FLR to clear obstructions?
  2. Can vents be merged (from diagonal, not horizontal) below the FLR?
  3. Can I wet vent into a shower vent for a lav sink if the lav sink is not in the bathroom, i.e., adjacent laundry room?
Thank you for the information.

1. Yes. 45 degrees off of vertical is still considered vertical.
2. Vents can be merged 6 or more inches above the flood levels of the fixtures they serve.
3. I am pretty sure yes, but the laundry drainage can only join the shower+lav drainage downstream of the shower+lav.

Thank you Reach4 for your contributions to this forum.
  1. Understood that >45° is considered is vertical, thanks for the confirmation.
  2. No merging of vents below the FLR even if at >45°
  3. Wet venting to a shower vent is interesting. Yes, is occurs downstream of the shower and lav. I didn't see anything in the code but there are references to bathroom groups and thus wet venting for a fixture outside of a bathroom gave me pause.
Thanks again!
