I have a Grohe thermostatic shower valve, part no. 34126000. I am not receiving any cold water; when I turn off the hot water supply, but leave on the cold water supply, I receive no water. The adjacent sink, which relies on the same water supply, does receive both hot and cold water. From this symptom, my suspicion is that there is a blockage in the cold water pipes, someplace between the cold water shutoff for both sink and shower, and the thermostatic shower valve. Is this the likely problem? Might there be a failure with the valve itself? Is it possible that a plumber could fish through the cold water supply line to find blockage? Are there other solutions that do not involve break through the walls (that are covered with expensive Italian tile)?
