Well driller ran a pump to the culvert at 11gpm for 2 days
we have been using the water since mid Dec ( family of four).
We get about a tablespoon of sand in the filter every thirty days.
Well is cased to 28' then sandstone to bottom static is at 60'

You would benefit from a water softener.

Is there a significant sulfur smell in the hot water? Cold water? If not, a softener after your filter will do everything nicely. During the softener install, you might add a boiler drain (faucet) to let you mount a water pressure gauge and to draw unsoftened water for plant watering and maybe drinking. The pressure gauge will help tell you how the filter cartridge is doing.

You could go to a DGD-5005 cartridge (50-5 micron) and get even finer dual gradient filtering. If your BB housing is a 10 inch and you have space, you could replace the blue part with a 20 inch housing if you wanted to double the life on your filter element. Do keep a spare O-ring, and do use silicone grease very lightly on the O-ring. I like Molykote 111.
