New Sand Point

Going to install a sand point for yard irrigation. I bought a 4 foot stainless Johnson point. Going to use 2 inch pipe. What is the general rule for amount of water to have in the pipe before you stop pounding?

As much as possible. You just want the screen in the water bearing formation. Too shallow or too deep can be problem.
